Some Things I Bought That Improved My Life
Coffee Stuff #
I have REALLY enjoyed being able to make good-tasting coffee at home. I initially started drinking coffee as a zero-calorie drink to avoid snacking, but over time, I have been drawn into this world. Here are the major purchases
-
Breville Infuser: Great machine! Goes on sale often (usually on Amazon). It doesn't have an in-built grinder, but this is good because you can use your own grinder.
-
Baratza Encore ESP Pro: Great entry level grinder that lets you make espresso
-
Speciality coffee: Australia has SO MANY choices. Here are some of my favourites - Mecca, Single O, Paradox
-
Aeropress, Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot: Excellent when you just want some delicious brews that aren't espresso based.
-
Accessories: Coffee mat with removable drying/spill area, Shot mirror, Bomber naked portafilter, WDT tool, Gooseneck kettle
Also got some cheap Kmart kitchen islands to store everything!
Dreame L10s Ultra Vacuum #
I bought this robo vac during Christmas sales when it was heavily discounted. I've not used the mop feature yet, but pretty much everything else. Cleans well and also auto empties. And you can use its camera to check your place when you're not at home.
Schedule it for when you're not around and it's like you have magic elvesto clean your floor EKO Madison Step Can #
I love this trash bin SO MUCH. I used to buy the cheapest bins possible, and the pedal part of it always broke very quickly or stopped opening fully. I've been using this bin for over a year, and it still works like the day I got it. It's got separate compartments, and it also has a deodoriser that works really well.
Trash bins that aren't trash! Air Fryer #
Works great for grilling chicken, potatoes, steaks, and pretty much anything else that benefits from having an oven. Sits on the counter and is easier to use than an oven. I use it a couple of times a week. Just pick a size that makes sense for your family.
Noise Cancelling Headphones + Bluetooth Airplane Adaptor #
I've had my Sony WH-1000XM4 for years now. They've taken a beating, and the ear muffs have been replaced a few times, but they still keep going. I never get on a plane without them because they help with drowning out all the noise on a plane.
Pair these with the adaptor, and you can use your headphones with the plane's entertainment system so you can watch movies/listen to music without the cables.
Also keeps your ears warm when things get cold 2m Long USB Cable #
The cheapest best thing I bought! Great for when there's a charger point that's not next to you when travelling or when in hotels.
Electric Toothbrush + Tongue Scraper #
I started with a cheap Oral-B toothbrush and recently upgraded to the Oral-B Io3, which is quieter and gives feedback on the pressure. It also has an app if you want to track other stuff, but it seems overkill for brushing your teeth. Personally, the Io3 vibrations just feel better than the basic electric toothbrush, but any decent device would do.
Ate too much garlic-heavy food and can't get the taste out of your mouth? These work great for exactly that situation. Use the scraper after you've brushed your teeth but before you've spit out all the toothpaste.
Watch out for that gag reflex though
